Uku..."First Beloved Man" Chief

$6,400.00Price

A striking, one-of-a-kind necklace composed in luminous layers of Kingman turquoise, Australian heishi opals, lapis gems, rutile quartz, and warm antler beads—each strand chosen for its color, texture, and natural character. An absolutely amazing, one-of-a-kind necklace centered on a hand-carved chief profile by "Bone Dust of Oklahoma"—an arresting focal element rich with presence, artistry, and story. Worn close to the heart, it feels like a talisman: bold yet refined, honoring the beauty of handwork and the spirit of the American West, crafted to be treasured as an heirloom in the making. This extraordinary element is carved from a combination of mammoth ivory, horn, and  bone. An element of turquoise  for the headpiece alongside the paint or dye of black or feathers and red for the headdress band,  create a wonderful 3D effect for this artistic element. Finished with sterling silver beads and findings and secured with a sterling silver clasp, it’s an elegant piece of wearable art that feels both grounded and radiant, made to be treasured as an heirloom in the making.

"Uku" is a powerful Cherokee name for "Chief", or "First Beloved Man". This necklace was designed to show respect and reverence to the First Nation People, and our family heritage.
