The Standard of Ur, is an ancient Mesopotamian artifact dating to around 2600-2400 BCE. The segment depicted in the necklace above, is a portion of one side, often interpreted as the "war" side, depicting soldiers and a king. The original artiface was discovered in the 1920s, and is currently housed in the British Museum.
